Hello! I'm Edward and I am a professional actor. After gaining a Licentiate from the Royal Academy of Music in Voice teaching in 2023 as well as my Masters in Musical theatre, and my degree in Acting from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, I have been teaching 1-2-1 sessions as well as at performing arts schools. I base my teaching from the Estill technique recognised worldwide. But as this is designed for more advanced singing. I adapt it to fit the client that I am working with. We look at things like thyroid tilt, cricoid tilt, tongue position, retraction, semi-occlusion of the vocal tract, onsets etc. However, all of that can sound rather scientific, so I use different and more memorable ways of achieveing the same techniques. I find that this helps with accessing techniques for clients who are not yet advanced with their singing. Additionally, I really focus on the performing of a song. Coming from a Musical Theatre background, I strongly believe that Acting is intertwined with every aspect of singing. The singing must come from an informed view of the character. So, we can look at things like character work and choices that match the context that the song is being perfomed in.
