My purpose is to help to strengthen students' foundation and help with exam prep and practical math skills.

My name is Jehoba Soriano, a dedicated Mathematics teacher and tutor with over eight years of teaching experience in both local and international educational settings. I am passionate about making mathematics meaningful, accessible, and engaging for learners, while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and academic growth. I hold a Bachelor of Technical Teacher Education, Major in Mathematics, from Marikina Polytechnic College, Philippines. Throughout my career, I have taught across various institutions, including four years as a Mathematics and ICT Teacher at Far Eastern University Roosevelt, three years as a Mathematics Teacher at Dee Hwa Liong Academy, and currently as an online Mathematics tutor at Brighterly Company, where I teach students from the United States. At present, I am also working as a Mathematics Teacher at Sekolah Bina Persada, a Cambridge International School in Kota Baru, Indonesia, where I teach AS Level Mathematics. Since joining the institution on July 10, 2025, I have gained valuable experience working in a multicultural environment, implementing international academic standards, and delivering instruction aligned with the Cambridge curriculum. My diverse teaching experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning modalities, integrate technology into instruction, and apply innovative teaching strategies to support students with varying learning needs. I am committed to continuous professional development and to helping students build strong mathematical foundations, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.

My teaching methodology is student-centered, inquiry-based, and outcomes-driven, with a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of mathematical concepts. I believe that students learn best in a structured yet supportive environment where they feel confident to explore ideas, ask questions, and learn from mistakes. I begin each lesson by assessing students’ prior knowledge and clearly communicating learning objectives to establish purpose and direction. New concepts are introduced through guided instruction, concrete examples, and visual representations to ensure accessibility for learners with diverse abilities. I scaffold learning progressively—from simple to complex—allowing students to build confidence and mastery at each stage. To enhance engagement and understanding, I employ varied instructional strategies, including problem-based learning, collaborative activities, guided practice, and independent work. I integrate technology and digital tools such as interactive presentations, virtual manipulatives, online quizzes, and educational platforms to support both face-to-face and online learning environments. Formative assessment is an essential part of my methodology. I regularly use questioning techniques, exit tickets, quizzes, and performance tasks to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback. Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to become confident, analytical, and lifelong learners who can apply mathematical knowledge effectively in academic and real-world situations.
