About the tutor
My name is Amelia Nelson, and for the past 3 years, Ive had the rewarding experience of guiding students on their academic journeys. My passion for education comes from a desire to empower students and witness their growth in understanding the multitude of concepts present in the subject of Chemistry. Leveraging my background in science for which I have PhD degree from the university of Michigan, Ann Arbor, I can provide strong instruction in Chemistry, while also offering support in AP Chemistry and GCSE Chemistry. Outside of the classroom, I find myself drawn to nature and sports, which I believe fosters a well-rounded perspective that I integrate into my teaching approach.

As an experienced chemistry tutor, I will follow a tutoring strategy that can help students excel in the subject. I will conduct a minor revision of the major concepts before simplifying concepts that the student finds problematic with the help of analogies and reference material. I will make it a point to regularly evaluate student progress through tests, both oral and written, to identify the effectiveness of the tutoring and adjust teaching strategies as needed. These tests would allow me to grasp how much the student has understood and where he can improve.
