Dr. Theertha - Get to know your vocal coach
As a trained vocalist and a proud disciple of the renowned Dr. N.J. Nandini, I have been deeply immersed in the world of music since I began my journey at four years old. My core expertise lies in Carnatic music, the profound and ancient classical music tradition of South India. This Indian classical form is celebrated for its intricate raga (melody) and tala (rhythm) structures, and I am deeply committed to preserving its authentic essence while making it accessible and enjoyable for every learner. I am passionate about helping students discover the beauty of this tradition at their own pace. I specialize in teaching beginners and intermediate learners, providing a supportive, encouraging space to build a strong foundation in classical vocal techniques. I believe music is a deeply personal journey, and I take pride in creating a comfortable environment where you can feel confident to explore your voice and grow as a singer. My dedication to the art led me to achieve the first prize in Carnatic music at the 2019 Kerala University Kalolsavam. My sessions are designed to be soulful and structured, focusing on the joy of singing and steady skill development. Whether you are just starting your musical journey or looking to refine your technique, I am here to guide you with patience as we explore the rich, melodic heritage of Indian classical music. I would be honored to help you find your unique musical voice in our classes together.

Singing concepts taught by Dr. Theertha
The session focused on advanced mathematics topics including differentiation, conic sections (parabolas and tangents), trigonometry using t-formula, and vectors. Student and Tutor practiced problem-solving techniques for finding derivatives and tangent equations, and reviewed vector formulas for area and volume. The Student was assigned specific textbook questions for revision ahead of an upcoming exam, particularly focusing on areas of past difficulty like conic sections and linear transformations.
Implicit Differentiation (Total Differentiation)
Equations of Tangents and Normals
T-Formulae for Double Angle Identities
Vector Geometry: Areas and Volumes
Conic Sections: Parabola Properties
The Tutor and Student worked through numerical methods for solving differential equations, practicing Euler's method, the midpoint method, and forward difference approximations. They also covered numerical solutions for second-order differential equations and complex problems requiring simultaneous equations, with plans for a test on these topics.

Second-Order Differential Equations & Numerical Solutions
Numerical Methods for Differential Equations
Euler's Method (Forward Difference Formula)
The Student and Tutor practiced solving various advanced mathematics problems covering vectors, parabolas, and hyperbolas, including calculating areas and volumes, deriving equations of lines and tangents, and applying integration techniques. The Student was assigned homework to solve two specific problems and observe how graph variations occur with changes in constants, with a deadline of 24 hours.
Volume of a Parallelepiped
Rectangular Hyperbola: Invariant Properties
Tangent Equations for Conic Sections
Parabola Fundamentals: Focus
Directrix
& Chords
Vector Area of a Triangle
The student and tutor reviewed and practiced trigonometric identities, specifically focusing on the t-substitution method (t = tan(theta/2)) for solving trigonometric equations. They worked through several problems involving algebraic manipulation and application of these formulas, and planned to continue practicing similar problems in the future.
Trigonometric Identities with 't-substitution'
Trigonometric Identities and Their Derivations
Solving Trigonometric Equations with 't-substitution'
Factorization of Trigonometric Expressions
The tutor and student reviewed and solved advanced problems in trigonometry, coordinate geometry, and conic sections. They practiced techniques for solving trigonometric equations, finding tangents to circles, and deriving parabola equations. The next session will continue with t-formulae, and the student will submit a solved homework problem.
Solving Trigonometric Equations with Substitution
Tangents to Circles: Discriminant Method
Parabola: Cartesian Equation from Focus and Directrix
Trigonometric Identities and the t-formulae
The tutor and student reviewed concepts related to normal distribution, including Z-scores, percentiles, and the approximation of binomial distributions using normal distributions. They practiced solving problems involving these concepts and touched upon hypothesis testing for sample means, with the tutor offering to clarify specific areas of confusion.
