Supportive ESL Tutor for All Ages | Build Confidence in Speaking English for Real-Life Communication

I am a TEFL Level 5–qualified ESOL tutor with experience teaching young children through to adult learners, both online and in community settings. I teach Pre-Entry, beginner and conversational English, focusing on functional everyday language, pronunciation and basic grammar. I support learners at early stages of English learning through patient, structured and practical lessons that build confidence step by step. My teaching approach is learner-centred and adaptable, allowing me to meet the needs of different ages, abilities and learning speeds. I use clear explanations, repetition, visual support and guided speaking practice to help learners understand and retain new language. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging online learning environment where students feel comfortable practising English and applying it confidently in real-life situations.

I use clear explanations, repetition, visual aids and guided practice to support learning, particularly for Pre-Entry, beginner & intermediate ESOL learners. Speaking and listening are central to my lessons and I encourage learners to practise English in meaningful, real-life contexts through role-play, conversation and practical activities. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced gradually and reinforced through use rather than memorisation. For younger learners, I incorporate interactive activities, visuals and repetition to maintain engagement and focus. For adult learners, I prioritise relevance, confidence-building and functional language that can be used in everyday situations. Throughout my lessons, I regularly check understanding, provide constructive feedback and create a calm, encouraging environment where learners feel comfortable practising and making progress.
