I am Charis, a Biology tutor with a B.S in Environmental Science and over 5 years in tutoring and 3 years in substitute teaching. I take a personalized approach with tutoring, making sure to take every student's needs into account. I value hands-on and visual learning, as well as real-world application. I make sure to tailor each lesson, meeting each child half-way. I also have experience working with people with special needs and disabilities across the spectrum, and it is my honor to help people across different walks of life. I cater to Elementary, Middle, and High School students, and specialize in Biology, Ecology, and Zoology, as well as other Life Sciences. Whether it's guiding students through Biology Lab skills or providing homework help, I provide a patient ear and personalized support to each student who asks for help. My tutoring methods are very specialized for each student. I specialize in tutoring Biology, Ecology, Zoology, and other Life Sciences by using several different interactive lessons. Visual aids, educational games, quizzes, and many other learning aids are perfect for young scientists trying to wrap their brains around the natural world. I always try to relate their personal interests to their study material so they can maintain focus on the concepts in front of them, and truly grasp fundamentals from the base up. Whether I have to sketch out visual aids with cartoon characters in them ahead of time, or include boy band members' names in Kahoot questions, I will find a way to get kids K-12 hooked on the material. I also make sure to adapt my style to kids who have disabilities. I understand all scientists need to learn in their own ways, so if that means adapting learning material, I will go the extra mile in any way needed.
