I believe that understanding the mechanics of playing—proper posture, hand position, and finger dexterity—prevents injury and unlocks a pianist's true expressive potential. Sight-reading is equally critical; fluency in reading sheet music empowers students to learn independently and explore vast libraries of repertoire with confidence. However, a well-rounded musician needs more than just sheet music to thrive in today's musical landscape. I actively integrate ear training and playing by ear into my curriculum.
