Lillian - Know your guitar teacher
Hello! My name is Lilli and I am a Bachelors-educated tutor in music and education. I worked at Guitar Center for 2 years so I have a lot of knowledge about gear and now I work at the Brooklyn Paramount so I'm also well-versed in live music. I was in a band in college so I am very comfortable teaching to be stage ready! I am open to singing, guitar, bass guitar, piano, and music theory. I can cover chord progressions, fingerstyle, ear training, and sightreading. I want my lessons to be tailored to YOU and your goals for music. I also have 2 years of music substitute teaching in Buffalo NY and Brooklyn NY. I listen to a lot of indie, alternative, folk, and rock so send me whatever covers will make you enjoy learning this new skill the best. I have very open availability so I want to work with your schedule to the best of my ability. I really appreciate you considering me as your teacher!

Guitar lessons quick guide
My tutoring approach is student forward with a lot of emphasis on your style of learning. If you are best with tactile or visual I will do my absolute best to adapt to your skills. It is important to me that you feel progress and genuinely have fun in the learning process, or else you'll end up feeling resentful in something that is supposed to be fun. I utilize sight-reading, scales, and metronomes to build a strong foundation as well as truly understanding music theory before throwing you into difficult pieces. Learning songs you like in the beginning and seeing yourself progress on them is much more fulfilling than assigning you classical pieces you treat like homework. I want your skillset to be varied and usable in the real world so you can go out and engage in music to the best of your ability. With 2 years of lessons I truly believe I can encourage your best self.
