Jacob - Violin teacher
Hello! My name is Jacob and I am a teacher of violin and English as a Second Language. Please read about my expectations so you can get a better sense of what it's like to be my student! Expectations for.. Teacher (myself): I will aim to create a nurturing learning environment in every lesson. I expect to focus on guiding each student towards violin mastery. I will use the lesson time to effectively navigate each step of the violin learning process, as well as the core elements of music. I will communicate with parents about healthy violin habits. Above all, my goal is to allow the violin to become an expressive outlet for my students, one that guides them towards becoming excellent human beings. Students: Believe in yourself. Practice daily. Breathe. Be cooperative. Take care of your instrument. Be ready to have fun and play lots of games. Understand that struggles are a part of the learning process. Be yourself, stay positive, and try your best. Parents/Guardians: Embrace the Suzuki Method! Help create a musical way of life by observing lessons, creating home practice routines, and encourage listening to the music. Be aware that becoming an expert musician is a way of life and setting up a musical environment is the key to success. Prioritize time for violin practice every day. These expectations encourage a long-term commitment to excellence, one simple learning step at a time.

Violin lessons overview
As a certified Suzuki teacher, I follow the Suzuki Method philosophy and will help you navigate your way through the first 10 books of the method, from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Mozart Concertos! The core philosophies of this method include listening to music regularly, practicing daily, learning about classical history, and performing with others. With enough consistency and effort, anyone can master the violin, thus helping them become better human beings in the process. My career has also included teaching English as a Second Language, therefore if you are an English leaner, I would be happy to help with that, as well! I am open to best cater to whatever type of lesson you would like. Whether that be music theory-focused, violin-focused, English-focused, or a combination of your choosing! Let me know your learning goals and I'll do my best to help you achieve them.
