Student learned about 1 month ago

The Student and Tutor focused on foundational singing techniques and introduced basic music theory concepts. They practiced vocal warm-ups, legato singing, high note techniques, and vowel articulation exercises. For homework, the Student will practice these exercises and learn Elton John's "Your Song" by listening and singing along, with the next session to be scheduled once prepared, considering an upcoming time zone change.

The Student and Tutor reviewed vocal warm-ups including breando and five-note exercises, focusing on gentle execution and breath control. They then extensively practiced reading and singing a Marchesi vocalise, identifying notes and correcting pitch. Key music theory concepts such as dynamics (piano, forte, crescendo, decrescendo), articulation (slurs), accidentals (sharps, flats, naturals), and time signature were introduced. The Student will practice mastering the entire vocalise for the next lesson, which will involve singing the complete page.
