I'm Robert Means, a Bachelor's educated Violin instructor with over 5 years of experience teaching violin lessons. I specialize in the Suzuki method of violin training, and have played beyond them at an advanced level after graduating from the method. I also have extensive experience with Fiddle, having competed in multiple professional-level competitions. I've been playing violin for over 14 years, and have experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. I focus on creating a personalized learning experience for each student, in order to focus on their individual needs, honing sound production, tone, and technique through a variety of different methods and repertoire styles. I want to see my students succeed, and help cultivate a love for their instrument and music, be it classical, fiddle, or Baroque performance, I am happy to help you on your musical journey!

I place a large emphasis on technique and sound production, and specialize in a variety of violin subjects including fiddle, electric violin, classical violin, Baroque and period performance, and improvisation. I use a variety of online tools and software to help streamline the online learning process and ensure that you are receiving the best instruction possible. I use a high-quality microphone setup to ensure the sound quality of my playing and instruction is the best it can be for my students, and also integrate worksheets and whiteboards into my instruction to add a physical, hands-on dimension to online learning. I believe that catering to a diverse studio of many students requires a multifaceted and adaptive learning environment at every part of their violin journey.
