Nick - Know your guitar teacher
I’m Nick Prato, a Berklee College of Music graduate (Magna Cum Laude, B.M. in Professional Music) with over seven years of teaching experience. I’ve taught hundreds of students of all ages through my private studio and at various music schools such as Loudlands Music Lab in Boston and Studio B Music School in Maine, where I led the guitar department. My lessons blend theory, technique, and creativity to help students find their sound and confidence, whether they’re learning their first chords, diving into improvisation, or writing original music. Outside of teaching, I’m an active gigging musician and producer. I perform regularly with my own band and as a solo artist, work as a session guitarist, and collaborate with other artists on songwriting and production. I keep my lessons fun, relaxed, and tailored to each student’s goals, creating a space to grow, stay inspired, and connect deeply with music. Let’s rock!

Guitar lessons quick guide
My approach is student-centered and flexible. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual goals, learning style, and musical interests. Some students thrive by learning songs by ear, while others connect more through a more structured theory or technique approach - I believe all of these paths can lead to real growth when approached the right way. I break concepts into clear, practical steps that connect directly to what each student is playing and interested in. Rather than teaching theory in isolation, I show how it applies to the music they love - whether that means analyzing chord progressions in a favorite song or exploring scales through improvisation. After each lesson, I will always send a summary with what we covered, any materials or references used, and specific goals for the week ahead. My goal is to keep students organized, motivated, and confident while creating a relaxed and supportive space to learn, grow, and stay inspired!
