Innovative Guitar Lessons utilizing modern strategies to reach personal goals and beyond

Chris Bedward is a Rock/Jazz/Fusion guitarist and composer based in New York. He is a regular at many major trade shows such as the NAMM show, NY Amp Show, The Stompbox Exhibit, and more. He has worked as a product specialist with Electro-Harmonix, has been featured on “96.7 The Buzz” radio station, and has played for hip-hop/reggae group RSNY as well as toured with international reggae star Shaggy—owner of Ranch Entertainment. Other Notable artist that Chris has played for are Nadine Sutherland, Red Fox, Vision & Christopher Williams. Chris is a graduate of BerkleeOnline's Jazz Guitar Program, finishing with the "Alf Clausen Celebrity Scholarship." In the summer of 2015, during a showcase with up-and-coming Saxophonist David T.V. Barnes, Chris received industry-wide accolades from labels such as Def Jam records, Atlantic Records and Universal Music Group. Having played venues like CBGBs, The Knitting Factory, Club Show, Sullivan Hall and Webster Hall, Chris is now seeking to expand his horizons, as well as teach those who struggle to grasp the guitar. Chris is also a private guitar instructor and session musician.

I'm a full-time gigging musician and educator. I play multiple genres such as Jazz, R&B, Reggae, Rock, Fusion and more. I'm a scholarship awarded BerkleeOnline graduate and have played for high level artists. My teaching methodology centers around "progress not perfection." With that said I build a comprehensive curriculum tailored to each student although I do have a heavy focus on the following for intermediates and advanced students: Building Picking Speed/Left Hand Accuracy Scales & Modes Fretboard Visualization Arpeggios Developing Time Feel & Improv Studies Bending/Vibrato Building Chords and how they relate to scales Ear Training & more For beginners I take a more relaxed "song first" approach, getting one comfortable with basic chords before moving into scale work and soloing within their favorite songs.
