Hi, I’m Tamryn Shaw, a seasoned tutor with over 17 years of experience teaching and playing chess. I’ve worked with learners of all ages and levels — from beginners who are just starting out to players looking to take their game to a competitive level. I hold a Level 5 Diploma from The TEFL Academy in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and I graduated High School with a National Senior Certificate from Umalusi. These qualifications have helped me develop strong communication and teaching skills, which I bring into every chess lesson. I specialise in teaching chess using platforms like Chess.com and interactive analysis boards to make each lesson personalised and engaging.
