Jan - Your piano teacher
Hello! My name is Jan Rodriguez. I am a classical-trained pianist with nearly five years of piano performance experience. I have over one year of experience as a piano and music theory teacher/tutor, where my main areas of expertise are the piano techniques such as scales and arpeggio, alongside finger training, sight reading, and careful study of piano repertoire. As a student, I was known for my initiative in leadership and collective teamwork. I used to preside over the student association of my music department, granting quality of life changes to the student’s daily experience and inviting local musicians to share their wisdom for our continued development in the music world. At the current time, I am still an active pianist at the university’s orchestra and offer tutoring courses for new and ongoing music students. To put it simply, I love what I do and sharing it with other’s is a great pleasure!
Jan graduated from Ponthificial Catholic University of Puerto Rico

Piano lessons at a glance
My teaching has helped beginner and intermediate level students to better grasp and internalize the essentials of piano technique and enhance their piano playing skills. My methodology consist on understanding my student’s needs and wishes and prepare ahead of time to better tackle the tasks at hand and utilize the time of the class more efficiently. My courses are a relaxed yet constructive learning experience where I'll guide my students through a series of piano exercises, fostering a healthy habit of piano practice. By the end of my class, it is expected that my students will have a better understanding of musical terms and have enhanced their piano techniques and overall performance. I am available to teach during the weekends from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (Atlantic Standard Time). Let's give it our best and learn with every step!
