Madeleine - Get to know your vocal coach

My name is Madeleine Morgan, and I am a pure art enthusiast. I grew up in a house filled with music, with my mother being an experienced music teacher of 30+ years. After dabbling in piano for a bit, I discovered that my passion laid with the world of voice. I have seven years of professional classical opera training from some of the most experienced and qualified teachers that I had the privilege to work with. My first teacher was an experienced voice teacher and my second voice teacher was the senior voice instructor at the University Of Southern California for 50 years. I also went through an intensive classical music program known as The Certificate Of Merit which prepares students for either a bachelor's degree in music or conservatory. I have tutored for over 3 years, and teaching is truly my passion. I cannot wait to begin guiding you on your singing journey! :)

Singing lessons highlights

My teaching approach is focused on a main concept: letting the student lead. In my opinion, there is nothing more important than letting the student guide the session with me guiding them as necessary. However, I do not believe in the tutor controlling the session. I love a engaged and interactive approach and I am comfortable with working with all ages. I will work with you to develop a plan that aligns with your singing journey and set actionable goals. I expect active participation. I love it when people come with questions and ideas, I am more than happy to incorporate new things into our lessons. In tutoring, the key is to have both tutor and tutee active and engaged in the lessons. I can promise my clients that I will always do my very best to answer all questions and to be there for you in your singing journey. I can't wait to start this singing journey with you! :)

The student worked on improving pitch accuracy and reducing nasality in their singing, focusing on specific sections of a song. The Tutor recommended practicing with the original recording and karaoke tracks, while also emphasizing diaphragmatic support for better vocal tone.
