About your french tutor
As an aspiring language and early years educator, I am committed to guiding learners in building knowledge step by step. My teaching is grounded in the Explanation and Modelling approach, using the “I do, We do, You do” format to scaffold learning and gradually foster independence. This structure allows learners to observe, participate, and then apply skills confidently. I believe that language learning must go beyond grammar and technical fluency. It should also immerse learners in the cultural undertones that shape how language is used and understood. By integrating cultural themes into my lessons, from idioms and traditions to music and storytelling. I help students connect language to lived experience, enhancing both engagement and retention. One of my core strengths is pronunciation drilling, which I use to build learners’ confidence in speaking. Through rhythmic repetition, phonetic modelling, and peer practice, I support students in mastering pronunciation and developing a sense of pride in their voice. This is particularly impactful for learners who may feel hesitant or self-conscious about speaking aloud. My teaching is inclusive, reflective, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners and I aim to create environments where every learner feels seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Teaching online has deepened my belief that learning is a journey we take together — even across screens. I use the “I do, We do, You do” approach to guide learners step by step, starting with clear modelling, moving into shared practice, and finally encouraging independent use. In a virtual setting, this means using screen sharing, interactive slides, and live annotation to demonstrate concepts. Pronunciation drilling is a key part of my online teaching. I use audio tools, repetition exercises, and visual phonetic cues to help learners master sounds and speak with confidence. Learners record themselves, practise with me, and receive targeted feedback — all within a safe, encouraging environment. I also bring culture into the virtual classroom. Through videos, music, stories, and real-world examples, I help learners connect language to lived experience. Online teaching also allows me to personalise learning. I tailor lessons to each learner’s pace, interests, and goals, using digital tools to track progress and adapt content. I draw on trauma-informed and restorative practices to make sure learners feel emotionally safe and supported, even in a virtual space. Mistakes are welcomed, feedback is constructive, and every learner is encouraged to take risks and grow.
