Ffion - Get to know your vocal coach
Growing up in the 'Land of Song' (Wales), I was fortunate to be presented with ample opportunities to engage with music and by age 9, I was receiving singing, harp, violin, and piano lessons and competing nationally in choirs and orchestras. These early experiences are what enabled me to discover and explore my love for music, and I am dedicated to providing children and young people with opportunities to experience the same excitement and fulfilment that music has brought me. I have a First-Class (hons) Bachelor's degree in Music and 4 years of teaching experience through my work as a secondary school music subject teacher (1 year) and a music specialist teaching assistant (3 years). As a singing tutor, my expertise lies in vocal ability, breathing, pitch range, performance skills, and GCSE/A level exam preparation. I also provide music theory tuition, from ABRSM and GCSE/A level exams to composition techniques. My lessons are a relaxed environment where we can have some fun whilst honing your skills and boosting your confidence - let’s work together to create the best version of your musical self!

Singing lessons highlights
My lessons are all about building a strong vocal foundation while keeping things fun and engaging! As a former secondary school music subject teacher, my approach combines professional vocal training with my deep understanding of how students learn best. Whether you’re preparing for GCSE/A level exams or are a beginner discovering your voice, together we will work to refine your breath support, tone production, range, diction, and control. I use diagrams and interactive exercises to help you understand how your voice works, and students can choose their own repertoire to aid in building confidence as a singer. Music theory tutoring sessions are generally designed using the learning materials I developed when working in the secondary school and can be adapted to meet the needs of varying abilities. My methodology is tried and tested, with 25% of my A level students earning A* grades in their exams. If preparing for an ABRSM music theory exam, we will work through a “guide to music theory” book together whilst also consulting my own resources, and I set a short exercise as homework ahead of the next session to consolidate your learning.
