Kaedan - Know your guitar teacher
As a musician and music instructor, I strive to provide the utmost service and direction I can to students so they are prepared to learn songs, collaborate with other musicians, and write their own music. My name is Kaedan Wilcox; I have a lifetime of performance under my belt. I play guitar and bass, and I sing (a bit). I want to provide students with the opportunity to learn the lessons that helped me at the sticking points in my own musical journey, to teach the lessons my instructor taught me, and to help work through technical challenges they may face using my understanding of their learning process and deep knowledge of theory. I primarily play rock and metal music, but I have a deep knowledge and love for all sorts of music. Learning about a student's taste in music helps me to personalize their journey toward their goals. I also want to provide insight into practical skills for performance and working with bands and musicians. I play in two bands; as a guitarist in one and a bassist in the other. I also record and produce our material. I perform regularly and have a deep knowledge of the stage. For our first lesson, I have a few questions I usually ask: 1. What kind of music do you like? 2. What draws you to guitar/bass? 3. Where do you want to be with guitar/bass in the next few weeks? I work well with highly interested students and students who are eccentric. If you want to learn to be a musician-- a full-on, rocking, performing guitar player-- I'm the teacher you are looking for. Thank you for reading my profile!

Guitar lessons quick guide
My teaching methods are tailored to fit my students. I take note of where students find challenges and offer advice to help navigate. I take into account where students excel; maybe a student is very proficient in one space and subsequently develops their playing in certain ways around that strength. These specialties arise in musicians as their playing develops and should be nurtured. However, a prospective player must not be railroaded and must be adaptable in what they can play to fit whatever situation they may be in. I always thought, "How should I know what I'll want to say in the future? I'm not there yet!" Guitar is a lifelong dedication that teaches a player many things. A player can draw out whatever meaning, value, or purpose they would like from playing guitar, and that's what makes it such a powerful tool. Guitar is a gateway to the mind and soul.
