Violin lessons overview
The focus in lessons will be on building fundamentals of general music: reading music, understanding basic music theory, and ear training. These are skills valuable for any young musician to develop. There will also be great focus on building violin specific technique: how to create a beautiful sound, how to play in tune and how to play expressively are all issues that can be tackled with an emphasis on the proper technique for playing the instrument. As a composer as well as a violinist, my skillset is far more diverse than a typical performer, and I leverage this in lessons. From creating arrangements and backing tracks and encouraging tools like ear training apps or tuner apps, I can ensure my students are being productive when they are by themselves. Whatever your goals are with violin or music generally, I will be there to guide you to knew heights.
