Brian - Know your guitar teacher
I'm Brian Schnebeck, a passionate guitar player and teacher, with an organized philosophical approach to learning and performing. I merge abstract theory with emotional resonance and break down music and why it can affect us so deeply. I teach acoustic, electric, bass, classical, fingerstyle, rock, and jazz. I focus on gradual progression exercises for technique that are in line with the student's level of theory knowledge. We'll learn your favorite songs, break down the chords and structure, hone in on the nuances of the techniques, all tailored to your goals and preferences in your musical journey. I can teach all levels of guitar/bass so if you're brand new and just getting started with chords and strumming out some notes I'm here to guide you. If you're more advanced and want to learn specific techniques, songs, and musical improvisation I can also help. I look forward to hearing from you!

Guitar lessons quick guide
Everyone has different learning preferences and styles, and I cater to those goals and preferences. I blend creative exercises with technical rudimentary exercises so we're always working both parts of our brain. I will introduce theory concepts alongside technical concepts so that you become a well-rounded player. An example might be looping a one chord progression to explore all the variety of harmonic color that could be achieved over a simple chord/groove. I'll show you quick exercises to train your ears on hearing intervals and chords so that your brain will connect sounds to theory. Ear training allows for unlimited creative expression, a musical identity, and to compose without fear and limitations. Various resources will be available such as PDF tablature, videos, backing tracks for relevant concepts, and song charts.
