Molly - Your piano teacher

My love for music started when I began classical piano at 6 years old. As soon as I started piano, I instantly began writing, singing, and performing my own songs. Originally from Grass Valley, CA, I left my hometown when I was 18 to move to Los Angeles to pursue a music career, attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood and eventually earning my Bachelors in Music (Piano & Vocals) from UC Berkeley. In LA, I formed numerous bands ranging from jazz to pop as well as my own band for my own music. After a decade in LA, performing at famous venues such as the House of Blues, The Troubadour, The Roxy, The Whisky a Go Go, The W, and more, “Covid” brought me back to my hometown in northern California where I continue to perform locally and reside closer to my family. You’re welcome to view my website www.mollyrothmusic.com where I continue to book my cover bands all over California on my website linked below. I’m the girl with pink hair! 🙂 Although it’s not pink anymore, I miss it a lot. I look forward to meeting you!

Piano lessons at a glance

My approach is fun, fast, and effective. I have taught for 20+ years and have truly refined my lessons so students can quickly learn the concepts and start playing the music they love sooner rather than later! My methodology is to make sure they are having fun first. I have heard too many stories about kids or adults who had quit piano due to the intensity of their instructor. I never want to be a reason someone turned away from music, in general, because of outdated, strict instruction. I know we can accomplish so much together while keeping things light, fun, and engaging! For adults, I have had a lot of success in incorporating music they want to learn into their instruction, while we work together to gain knowledge in theory and technique. Adults find it satisfying to be playing pieces they love and I understand why they want to do that! I have a lot of experience in teaching ALL ages and I'd love to work with you!
