Exciting violin lessons from a dedicated University of Calgary alum for a unique experience.

I am Gloria Mui Man Sze, a passionate violin tutor. I have over 30 years of experience teaching students of various ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to more advanced players. In my lessons, I focus on developing proper posture, bowing techniques, ear training, intonation, and Music Theory. Also, I help students master rhythm, scales, sight-reading and vibrato. Building confidence through step-by-step progress. Encouraging musical expression and creativity. I adapt my teaching style to meet each student’s learning pace and personal goals, whether they want to play for enjoyment, prepare for exams (such as ABRSM Grade 1-8 , Trinity Diploma ATCL, RCM Level 1-10), or perform on stage. Most importantly, I strive to make learning the violin both engaging and rewarding. I look forward to guiding you on your musical journey!

My teaching methodology focuses on developing bowing techniques, tone quality, pitch accuracy, and expressive playing, all rooted in a strong classical foundation. I offer personalized violin lessons for students of all ages and levels—children, beginners, intermediate, advanced players, and adults—tailoring each lesson to individual needs and goals. With experience teaching over 200 students, I combine a structured curriculum with interactive tools and online platforms to make learning both effective and engaging. My approach supports growth across classical, acoustic, and electric violin, blending technical training with musical expression, theory, and performance skills. Above all, I aim to create a positive, motivating environment that builds confidence, fosters a deep understanding of music, and inspires a lifelong passion for violin playing.
