My teaching methodology encompasses a blend of sight reading, ear training and empathetic techniques. It also focuses on patience and explaining why some of the techniques are right or wrong, so it is detailed and focused on enhancing students' skills through engaging and interactive lessons. Specializing in piano, grand piano and classical piano(as it is all part of the RCM Piano playing, as even though I have a weighted keyboard, I play on grand pianos for exams and concerts), I cater to a diverse audience of 50+ students, including beginners, kids, intermediates, and advanced players. By leveraging a variety of tech tools, like online platforms, software, cameras and even some apps if necessary, I create personalized tutoring sessions that ensure effective learning experiences. Following what the student has for piano level, I emphasize technique development(as each RCM technical requirement can be different for each grade) and musical understanding, fostering a deep appreciation for music while nurturing individual creativity and expression.
