Alex worked with Leslie on breath control and vocal exercises to lower and stabilize her voice. Leslie practiced deep breathing, staccato exhales, and scales, focusing on diaphragm engagement and rib cage expansion. They worked on phrases to incorporate the lower voice into her natural speech.

Staccato Exhale (Diaphragm Punches)
Vocal Resonance (Lowering Voice)
Alex led a lesson with a learner from Boulevard Manor, focusing on breathing exercises to improve breath control and lung capacity, including diaphragmatic breathing and staccato exhales. The learner then practiced C major and C sharp major scales, honing pitch accuracy, resonance, and forward sound placement. For practice, they were assigned the C major scale, with special attention to the third note and forward sound placement.

During a recent lesson, Alex and Doug focused on breathing exercises to improve Doug's singing. Doug, the singer, practiced diaphragmatic breathing and staccato exercises, subsequently applying these techniques to legato and staccato scales. His practice emphasized breath control, diaphragmatic support, and forward vocal placement. For their next lesson, Alex instructed Doug to concentrate on the inhale, diaphragmatic engagement, and forward placement.

Alex collaborated with Jacoby on breathing exercises, aiming to bolster breath control and support for singing. Their work centered on diaphragmatic breathing, sustained exhales, and rib cage expansion. Jacoby further honed his vocal placement and resonance by practicing scales with different vowels. Alex then gave feedback on Jacoby's performance of a song from "Little Shop of Horrors," suggesting they focus on particular lines in their next lesson.

Alex worked with Leslie on vocal exercises to lower her speaking voice, focusing on diaphragmatic breathing, breath control, and resonance. Leslie practiced various breathing techniques and vocalized phrases at different pitches to find a comfortable lower register. Alex will send Leslie a YouTube video to help her practice speaking around the F# and G notes to reinforce the lower resonance in her daily speech.
