Hi! I’m Sophie Hepton — a vocalist, performer, and voice teacher with a deep love for all things music. I hold a B.A. in Music and am currently pursuing my master's in music at NYU, where I continue to explore the many sides of vocal performance. I specialize in a wide range of vocal styles, but musical theatre has always been where my heart truly lives. As a teacher, I focus on building strong, healthy singing habits through a well-rounded and supportive approach. I help my students develop solid fundamentals — including breath control, ear training, and music theory — while also expanding their repertoire in fun and collaborative ways. I'm all about creating a positive, encouraging space where singers feel free to explore, take risks, and fall in love with their voice. My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong technical foundation to support a free, expressive voice—one released from tension or stress. I work with students to build healthy vocal habits through targeted breath control and voice-strengthening exercises. Together, we create awareness of physical alignment and vocal placement, allowing the voice to move freely and naturally. My goal is to help each student unlock their most authentic sound by combining solid technique with confidence, creativity, and a love for singing. Lessons are tailored to each singer’s unique goals and needs, whether that means preparing for auditions, expanding repertoire, or simply growing as an artist. I believe that with the right tools and support, every voice has the potential to shine, and collaboratively, we can find you're specific, special sound.
