The student learned about ATP production, oxidative phosphorylation, and the role of oxygen. Lactic acid fermentation was introduced as an alternative pathway when oxygen is limited, and the next session will continue with fermentation.

The Tutor introduced the Student to cellular respiration and its connection to redox reactions, then reviewed cell structure and function, including types of cells and the roles of key organelles. The Student was introduced to protein synthesis, glucose oxidation, and ATP production. The Tutor assigned reading material on cell structure for review and scheduled a follow-up session to continue with redox reactions.
