Jose - Violin teacher
I've been teaching violin and viola for over five years now, and every day since I've been dedicated to bringing the best individualized learning experience to each student. From large classroom settings, to one-on-one lessons. I will cater to the youngest beginners with no musical experience to adults who wish to learn a fulfilling hobby in their busy lives. My teaching methods come from a lineage of renowned pedagogues who studied with Karen Tuttle. The Tuttle co-ordination techniques focus on playing as naturally and comfortably as possible, allowing the performer to play without pain and constrain. Only then can one achieve the highest level of their musical expressivity. I will spend my time outside of lessons to research and adapt to my students needs so they will have both a fun and successful experience as they learn to play the violin and viola.

Violin lessons overview
As I mentioned in my bio, I'm currently learning and adapting the teachings of Karen Tuttle and her subsequent students, in what is generally known as Co-ordination. Along with the Tuttle school of knowledge, I also offer my expertise in music theory and music literature. Understanding historical and theoretical aspects of music can heighten your connection to repertoire and be extremely helpful in guiding your expressions and interpretation. For higher level students I also like to engage in a bit of meta-tutoring, that is, teaching them how to teach these concepts to others. I've heard before that the best way to know that you have truly understood something is by being able to teach it to someone else. The extend of what I delve into will vary from student to student, and many times I end up learning a lot from my students. That is one of the aspects of teaching that I value the most.
