Blake - Know your guitar teacher

I have been playing guitar since I was 4. My obsession has led me to learning over 15 instruments, almost all self taught, and has allowed me to play in multiple different venues and in front of thousands of people. Guitar is a way to express who you are. The style, technique and tone you have are all unique to you. I love to help others find their voice on their instrument. I enjoy multiple styles of music and can also teach in various styles. I studied for 3 years in college for music performance and 1 year at Berklee online for guitar. Those have helped me shape how I learn myself but also teach others. I have a hands on approach to teaching and love to learn from my students the same way they learn from me. I’m a guitar nerd and love all things gear. So if you need help with tone, rig set up or guitar techniques I will be able to help you out. Whether physical amps and pedals or even plug ins and digital pedals, we can dive deep into finding your own sound.

Guitar lessons quick guide

I approach lessons differently for every student. This is based on so many things, but it all comes down to who you want to be as a musician. Not just a player. Anyone can learn to play the guitar. But it takes a special skill to become a well rounded musician. That’s where I come in. Being self taught on over 15 different instruments, I approach lessons with a listen first mentality. Learning to train your ear can help you in so many other ways with your instrument. Ever wondered how some of the greatest guitar players continue to adapt and get better? They learn to listen and apply from other artists and styles. Listening is only part of the process of growing in your craft. Once you listen, you can start to play and craft the sound in your head in real life! So come along with me as we dive into guitar methods, music theory, tone, musicality and just having fun! Guitar lessons shouldn’t be frustrating, so don’t hesitate to sign up with me and have the most fun ever playing an instrument you love!
