Alex - Your piano teacher
I'm Alex Choyce, a Bachelors-educated online tutor with a passion for offering engaging piano lessons. With a focus on digital piano and specialized in areas like chord theory, ear training, and performance skills, I bring a fresh approach to learning. My tailored lessons cater to beginners, ensuring a solid foundation in piano basics. From mastering scales to developing improvisation techniques, I'm here to guide you every step of the way. I embrace show-and-tell learning, a process where I "show" the music, execute the music together with the student, and have the student "tell" me the music through performance. This establishes a mutual relationship between the student and myself solidifying new music and techniques. Also, I incorporate Bloom's Taxonomy, where remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating are emphasized in order. Without further ado, let's embark on this musical journey together!

Piano lessons at a glance
I offer personalized Digital Piano lessons focusing on progressive instruction, expressive musicality, creativity, and theory integration. My approach caters to piano beginners in small groups of less than 10 students. I leverage a variety of online tools like Logic Pro and Vienna Symphonic Library for interactive and engaging sessions. By following a structured curriculum, I ensure a comprehensive learning experience. My strength lies in adapting to individual learning styles, fostering deep understanding of musical concepts, and providing a supportive environment for students to excel in their musical journey. As stated in my introduction, "show-and-tell" learning and Bloom's Taxonomy will be used to assess each student's progress throughout the lessons. I have found these concepts applicable to various subjects that I have had to teach. I am sure they will prove beneficial for each lesson.
