Alondra - Get to know your vocal coach

My name is Alondra Ochoa, and I am a 27-year-old vocals coach living in Modesto, CA. I have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), even though my case is mild, as in I look pretty normal. My singing journey began when I was in the high school choir during my sophomore year, 11 years ago, and I sang as a soprano. I have been a vocal coach for almost 2 years, and I am currently self-employed in the Merced, CA area, where I offer basic music lessons to special needs kids. I can teach classical music, pop music, Spanish music, and even musical theater music since I have experience in these types of music. Whether you have singing experience or not, I am willing to take things slow and get you to the right path with some basic exercises and vocal training. Warm-ups are always best to wake up the vocal chords before we proceed to sing. Let us sing together and have fun!

Singing lessons highlights

The way I teach is very flexible, motivated, patient, and encouraging to build confidence and energy when it comes to singing. Before singing, I like to do warm-ups by singing certain vowels and syllables, as well as solfege. I also like to do some rhythm and counting exercises to stay on track when following the beat, as well as some breathing exercises to relax our bodies at all times, and not feel tense, and some basic stretches. I have taught for almost 2 years, both in person and online, so teaching from home seems very easy and very flexible. I have taught more than 10 students when working at my former job in Tracy, CA, and my current self-employed job in Merced, CA; most of them were mainly beginners or intermediate. I also taught a musical theater class where we would sing songs based on the theme of the showcase performance. I always make sure my students are well prepared and not feel worried or scared when performing on stage.
