Harry - Your piano teacher
Hello! My name is Harry and I've been teaching piano, music theory, composition and performance skills for over 10 years. I have experience teaching in top UK schools and specialist music academies and have taught all kinds of students - from young beginners to advanced students of every age. I specialise in finding methods that work for each student, but the aim for everyone is to become an independent musician. That could be through training your ear, focusing on reading music, passing music exams or writing your own music. I've performed everywhere from Abbey Road studios to local weddings, so I can also help with performance skills and dealing with anxiety. I spend a lot of time teaching online now, and have a great set up with a Sony EV10 ii camera, a macbook, DAW software and audio interface. That means you'll get a lesson with a clear image, and access to all the resources for any musical project. Send me a quick message and let's get playing!

Piano lessons at a glance
Everyone learns a little differently, so I've got used to using a wide variety of teaching methods. Here's a few: - Some people prefer to read music. So, we can either use my whiteboard, and figure out note reading the traditional way, or use apps like STAFF WARS to make it fun for younger students. For more advanced students, we can use MuseScore or IMSLP to find sheet music for anything. - If you prefer to use your ear to play, we can train with singing techniques on the piano or use apps like 'Complete Ear trainer' and 'Rhythm Trainer', which you can use Anywhere! - If you're interested in taking music super seriously, we can also talk about music theory, chord structure, improvising, and composition. Which all have their own tools and tricks to make them easier. - Lastly, if you're really looking to write your own stuff as a producer, we can study using DAW's, and recording techniques. Let me know how you learn, and we'll find the perfect method for you!
