PhD Applied Math candidate who teaches mathematics to Grade 6-University level students.

I am currently a PhD student at University of Waterloo. I have a Masters degree in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Hyderabad, India and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from DAV University, India. I have taught Calculus at University of Waterloo as a sessional instructor and have been a teaching assistant for several math courses. My students study in different parts of the world such as Canada, USA, UK and India. The topics vary from school level math, SAT, AP prep, IB  to Bachelors and Masters level analysis, calculus, algebra, probability, statistics and differential equations. I tutor groups as well as 1-on-1 lessons. I tutor online as well as in person. I have been tutoring from Spring 2020 onwards. I have already taught more than 100 students in 1-on-1 sessions. All students have access to my phone number and email and get a response to their doubts within 24 hours. 

I like to introduce concepts by giving real life applications and then slowly transforming to academically accepted language of the topic. This gives the student time to process what would actually be the importance of the topic they are studying. I then switch to problems related to the topic so as to make it easier for the students to solve their school/university assignments. I do not prefer dictating answers. I like to make the student equipped enough to write their own answers. I believe each student can be made independent enough with some amount of tutoring. You do not need a tutor for life, just for guidance. I also provide relevant homework and notes. All homework solutions are reviewed by me. I respond to all doubts within 24 hours if reached via phone or email. Detailed feedback is provided to interested parents. Frequent testing to ensure student is learning well.
