Candelaria - Get to know your vocal coach
Welcome to my lessons! My name is Candelaria Coco Borda, nice to meet you. I'm an opera singer, with more than 10 years of experience in the artistic field and with more than five as a vocal teacher. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I graduated from Musical Arts Bachelor with Singing Orientation on National University of Arts in Argentina on December 2024 and I have been teaching since 2019 to many students of all ages and levels in Spanish and also in English. It does not matter if you don't have any experience or any type of ear training, and the age you are neither. We'll be working on that with engaging exercises that will help you a lot. My approach as I have been classically trained is cross - training with my students, enabling them to sing every style they want to perform with a proper technique so they don't strain their voices no matter if they sing pop, rock or country. Can't wait to meet you in class!

Singing lessons highlights
In my lessons we work on many areas such as breathing support, breath control, placement, stamina, pitch, ear training but we also focus on developing each student's musicality; working on different performance resources such as nuances, belting, falsetto, and riffs and runs. Although my main field is classical singing because I have been trained as an opera singer, cross training has been very useful to all my students across the years, enabling them to sing whatever style they want to onboard. On your planning notes I will be writing with details the topics we will see in class and the homework you have to do in order to get progress. On your Google Drive I will send you the recordings of each lesson so you can watch it again and practice. If you need further explanations, you can ask me whatever you need to know on the chat.

Singing concept taught by Candelaria
Cande Coco guided an individual through vocal exercises focused on breath control, abdominal engagement, and vocal fold coordination to improve phrasing and note placement. The learner, a resident of the City of New York, practiced applying these techniques to a song, concentrating on articulation and maintaining breath support throughout phrases, with a focus on higher notes. They scheduled a follow-up lesson for Monday to continue working on these skills.

They honed in on rhythm, tempo, and pitch accuracy, and Cande Coco also incorporated dynamics to elevate Zeke's performance. The pair agreed to continue their work on "Jingle Bells" in subsequent lessons, though a temporary pause in their lessons is planned due to travel.

During their vocal lesson, Cande coached Anita on refining her singing, specifically targeting breath control, vocal placement, and resonance. Ultimately, the lesson sought to balance vocal registers and achieve a cleaner, more resonant sound.
