My name is Matt Kruft, a veteran guitar teacher with over 15 years of experience and a Master's Degree in Music Performance from the University of New Orleans. I've been a professional musician for almost 20 years and I've played every gig you can imagine from the smallest dive bars to huge international stages. I'm based in New Orleans, Louisiana and can offer a unique perspective on some of the coolest music in the world. I offer tailored lessons in electric, acoustic and classical guitar as well as bass guitar for all ages and experience levels. Topics can include finger style and pick technique, theory, songs and repertoire, recording, music production tips and tricks and even ear training. I'm also happy to answer any questions about preparing for the gig or for making a career as a professional musician. Whatever you're interested in, whatever style you want to learn, I'm your guru!

I offer personalized guitar lessons with a focus on integrating music theory, ear training, and good technique. I like to make sure my students have all the tools to play whatever they want at a high level and have developed the proper habits to avoid injury. I like to use music that the student is already interested in to teach all ages and levels. I've successfully taught more than 10,000 lessons over the last 15 years to students of all ages and ability levels, from children to adults and from absolute beginners to advanced players looking to take their skills to the next level. My strength lies in creating interactive lessons that nurture skill development and foster a deep love for music in every student.
