Guitar lessons quick guide
My Teaching Style & Methods Hey there! Here’s how I like to work with each student and each instrument — always adapting to what you need and enjoy. 🎸 Guitar: We focus on real songs and riffs you love. I’ll show you how to break down chords, strumming, picking, solo ideas, and technique — always connecting theory to practice. Step by step, you’ll build confidence to jam, write, or perform. 🎹 Piano: I mix classic method with modern tricks — reading sheet music if you want, plus chord progressions and ear training. We’ll play pieces that make sense for your level and taste, from pop to classical. 🎤 Singing: I work on warm-ups, breath control, range, pitch, and expression. We pick songs that motivate you and suit your voice, so you grow your technique and your style. I make sure you feel comfortable and supported every step. 🎸 Bass: Groove is king! We cover basic lines, rhythm, timing, and how to lock in with drums. If you like funk, jazz, or rock — we’ll learn lines and shapes you can use right away. 🎧 Production: We create tracks from scratch — beats, melodies, arrangement, recording, mixing, mastering. I’ll guide you through your DAW (Logic, Ableton, Cubase) and plugins, so you feel ready to make pro-level music at home. 🎶 Theory & Ear Training: I break theory into clear, useful ideas: how chords work, building scales, writing your own songs. We train your ear so you hear what you’re playing and can improvise freely. I believe music is best learned by making it — so every lesson is hands-on, practical, and fun. I plan each step for you, but we adjust as we go. Your goals shape the path!

Guitar concept taught by Guido
During their piano lesson, Guido and Grace focused on refining piano technique, emphasizing finger positioning and relaxation while playing chords. Grace also dedicated time to practicing singing and playing a song, receiving feedback on her pitch and coordination. Guido assigned specific fingering exercises and chord progressions for Grace's further practice and will send the complete song with chord names.

During a recent piano lesson, Guido guided a student from Tallahassee through various exercises, focusing on C major scales, C major chord inversions, and a song. The student practiced playing the song with both hands, incorporating single bass notes in the left hand. For homework, Guido assigned practice on scales, chords, and the song, emphasizing proper hand technique to prevent strain.

Guido Donato conducted a piano lesson with Thisthi x, where they focused on scales, specifically C major and D major, and various chords including D minor 7, E minor 7, A7, and A minor 7. The lesson also incorporated sight-reading practice and a review of music theory concepts from a book, with an emphasis on harmonic intervals. They spent time practicing the piece "Satin Doll." For her continued development, Thisthi x was assigned to practice the scales and chords, paying close attention to the first page and the initial two chords of the second page of the song.
