Karl - Know your guitar teacher
Hello! Karl here! I've been a musician for 19 years and a guitarist for 16, and am offering guitar lessons for all ages and all skill levels. I perform and teach a wide variety of musical genres from classical to jazz to rock and everything in between! Whether you want to learn Bach, Wes Montgomery, AC/DC, or something else even more out there, I can help you get there. We'll go through all the techniques you need to get where you want as well, whether that be strumming, fingerstyle, shredding, mastery of scales and arpeggios, whatever you need to sound they way you want! As a Music Theory and Composition graduate of New York University, I can also teach music theory, composition/songwriting, and audio engineering. If you ever wanted to know more about how music works, how to write your own music, and how to mix your recordings, I can help with that!

Guitar lessons quick guide
I encourage creativity and expanding the student's horizons in my lessons. While the lesson might begin with whatever the student wants to work on, that could just be the jumping off point for me to dig into my vast knowledge of the musical world around us and introduce the student to something they may never have heard of before. For example, a lesson that begins with Metallica may end with an introduction to another thrash metal great such as Megadeth. Or a more in-depth dive into a technique you need to use in a specific song can feature a selection of other songs that use it. I also encourage the development of good technique and good practice habits using the tools of today, including tuners, metronomes, and recording equipment. Students are also encouraged to challenge themselves by looking into learning something that may seem daunting at first, but with enough practice is doable. That way, the student does not stop making progress and improving themselves as a musician.
