Juan - Know your guitar teacher
My name is Juan Pastor, I have been a musician for over 20 years and play a variety of instruments including guitar, trumpet, bass, piano, harmonica, ukelele and others. I have over 10 years experience in tutoring, and over 3 years in tutoring and teaching music and guitar techniques to students young and old. My tastes vary from rock, blues, jazz, metal, classical, and more. I have performed in bands, solo, and in recording sessions in studios and at home, and also write and perform my own music whenever I can. I have a good foundation in guitar music theory, and have taught both basics and advanced technique and theory as well as performance and songwriting for many years. I am excited to share my knowledge with newer generations of eager musicians, and help people dive into the wonderful world of music! Reach out any time and let's get playing!

Guitar lessons quick guide
My teaching approach is relatively flexible. As I have taught beginner, intermediate, and advanced level musicians, my primary focus is to learn the strengths and weaknesses of students to help them hone their skills to the best of their abilities. I am very open to feedback, questions and answers, and enjoy exploring the tastes and styles of each individual student. Not everyone likes classical, or jazz, or rock. As a tutor, it is my goal to ascertain the students' interests as well as their skills, to keep them engaged and having fun while they learn to express themselves and hone their skills in music. It is my wish that any student that works with me develop not only a talent or a hobby, but comes to love music for music's sake, just as I do. To that end, I don't have a specific mode of teaching, and like to be open-minded so that the student and myself can learn and grow from each other, as well as from the coursework we will be doing. I believe a student-focused approach is superior to a curriculum-focused approach to teaching, since everyone will progress at their own pace, and I am very patient and empathetic to student needs and progress. After all, at the end of the day it's all about you!
