Nikk - Know your guitar teacher
Music is my life, everything is rhythm, all you need is love. I have been playing music since childhood, initially self-taught, later going on to learn proper technique and theory as well as the Indian classical system. From experience I can say this is NOT an effective way to learn. It's much better to have someone help you through the process! I have been privately teaching music for over 15 years to students of all different: -Learning ability -Age groups, from 8 to 70 years old -Instruments, from piano to tuba -Goals I find 1 on 1 instruction to be the best, as it allows me to focus on the needs and the learning style of the student, and I find it exceptionally rewarding to work with differently abled children- it helps their self-esteem and brings them joy when they get a hold of it, most of the time they will really go far with it! I also have been tutoring in academic subject (reading, math, history, literature, science) applying the same principles and helping students to realize their potential!! Guitar lessons quick guide
For music instruction, my approach is the same as teaching a language: there is an alphabet, we make words with these letters, then sentences, moving on to entire conversations. We learn to pronounce words correctly and then learn grammar. The other side of it is technique specific to the instrument, which includes exercises relative to the goals of the student. I tend to start with a lot of memorization through repetition, then gradual explanation as we go on. Guitar concepts taught by Nikk
The Tutor and Student reviewed various chord types and their construction, focusing on major, minor, extended, and suspended chords for guitar. They practiced identifying chord notes, understanding their theoretical basis, and how these concepts apply to playing music. The next session will involve applying these chord structures to a song.

Identifying Musical Errors and Corrections
The tutor and student explored the fundamental principles of music theory, focusing on chord construction (triads and seventh chords) and their relationship to musical keys. They practiced applying these concepts to the guitar fretboard, learning to identify and build various chords and seventh chords. The session concluded with a plan to reinforce fretboard knowledge and key signatures through repetition and practice exercises.

The tutor and student explored music theory concepts, focusing on the circle of fifths, key signatures (sharps and flats), and the construction of major, minor, and diminished triads. They practiced identifying and building these chords on the guitar, and discussed modulation and key changes.

The Tutor and Student worked on the 'B part' of a musical piece, focusing on coordinating the right and left hands in 4/4 time, and addressing challenges with syncopation and time signature changes. The lesson concluded with an encouragement to practice the current section before moving on, with the next session to cover chords and melodic ornamentation.

The tutor and student focused on the fundamentals of reading piano sheet music, including identifying notes on the staff and understanding the role of middle C as a reference point. They practiced recognizing notes on the right-hand staff and discussed how to interpret their position relative to middle C. The plan is to continue working on reading sheet music in subsequent sessions.
