Music is my life, everything is rhythm, all you need is love. I have been playing music since childhood, initially self-taught, later going on to learn proper technique and theory as well as the Indian classical system. From experience I can say this is NOT an effective way to learn. It's much better to have someone help you through the process! I have been privately teaching music for over 15 years to students of all different: -Learning ability -Age groups, from 8 to 70 years old -Instruments, from piano to tuba -Goals I find 1 on 1 instruction to be the best, as it allows me to focus on the needs and the learning style of the student, and I find it exceptionally rewarding to work with differently abled children- it helps their self-esteem and brings them joy when they get a hold of it, most of the time they will really go far with it! I also have been tutoring in academic subject (reading, math, history, literature, science) applying the same principles and helping students to realize their potential!! This is not an AI generated summary, I wrote this one myself :)

Guitar lessons quick guide
For music instruction, my approach is the same as teaching a language: there is an alphabet, we make words with these letters, then sentences, moving on to entire conversations. We learn to pronounce words correctly and then learn grammar. The other side of it is technique specific to the instrument, which includes exercises relative to the goals of the student. I tend to start with a lot of memorization through repetition, then gradual explanation as we go on. Guitar concept taught by Nikk
The Student practiced scales with both hands, focusing on coordination and finger placement. The Tutor introduced music theory concepts such as the circle of fifths, degrees of scales, and intervals. The homework is to practice C, G, and D scales with both hands, emphasizing slowing down the right hand to match the left, and exploring chords within those scales.

The instructor and a student from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth reviewed key signatures, accidentals, chord construction (major, minor, diminished, augmented, 7th chords, suspended chords), and inversions. The learner practiced identifying notes in different chord types and was assigned to practice scales and Hanon exercises in the keys of E, B, and F# major, focusing on understanding sharps.

Nikk worked on piano scales, progressing through the circle of fifths to E and B. The learner, who resides in Anaheim, focused on understanding sharps, fingerings, and hand positions for smooth scale playing. They were instructed to practice C with both hands and continue practicing A, E, and B, using a metronome at 60 bpm.

Nikk and Pragyan's recent music theory lesson involved a deep dive into modes, scales, and their connections within the circle of fifths. They focused on how different modes modify scales and how to identify relative majors and minors, also briefly touching on irregular scales and chords. Nikk will provide Pragyan with a highlighted sheet on Mixolydian, Aeolian, and Dorian modes, and their next lesson will continue with an exploration of chords within these scales.

Nikk taught a learner from Port St Lucie about chords, proper hand positioning, and the concept of musical keys on the piano. The learner then practiced playing chords with both hands and transitioning between them. For homework, they were assigned to continue practicing chords with both hands, with a focus on posture and hand positioning.

During a recent lesson, Nikk Palumbo instructed Kaycee Israel on common chord progressions in major and minor keys, specifically covering structures such as I-V-vi-iii-IV-I-IV-V and I-IV-V. Kaycee actively practiced identifying these fundamental musical structures and transposing them to different keys. For her continued development, Nikk assigned Kaycee to practice the discussed chord progressions in various keys, along with continued work on arpeggios.
