Erika Torres is a dynamic vocalist, baritone saxophonist, and dedicated music educator based in New Orleans. Blending influences like Ronnie Cuber, Ella Fitzgerald, Mariah Carey, Fred Wesley, and Aretha Franklin, Erika’s sound is equal parts groove, soul, and power. Her voice is known for its warm tone, wide range, and R&B agility, while her baritone sax playing delivers bold, bluesy energy. A Loyola University music graduate, Erika has performed with acclaimed acts including The Love Muscles, her own band Erika Torres & Co., and at international events like the Mid Europe Summer Music Festival in Austria. She was mentored by Grammy-winning saxophonist Jason Mingledorff and Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition winner Quiana Lynell, whose guidance helped shape Erika’s artistry and teaching philosophy. As a passionate teacher, Erika leads music and vocal workshops for students of all ages, both privately and in group settings, with a focus on confidence, technique, and joy.
