Piano lessons at a glance
In my personalized tutoring approach, I seamlessly integrate music theory, musicality, technique, ear training, and sight reading into lessons that are interactive. Specializing in teaching a variety of piano playing, I cater to beginners and intermediate level students whether they be adults or kids. I adjust my curriculum to what the student needs. My strength lies in providing tailored lessons that nurture a deep understanding of music while fostering a love for playing the piano, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential. I believe that piano playing is best taught one-on-one, in order to focus on skills needed to be practiced. I also consider practice in the student's personal time to be a very crucial part in studying music, as it builds discipline and makes the lessons easier to understand, which is why I encourage every student of mine to have their own personal piano or keyboard at home.

Piano concept taught by Eugene Paul
Eugene and Kloe dedicated their piano lesson to exercises from "A Dozen a Day." They also introduced the "Xerni Journey" piece, aiming to improve coordination and sight-reading. Kloe specifically focused on a minuet, meticulously refining her technique and ensuring smooth transitions within particular measures. For continued practice, Eugene assigned pages 9-12 from "A Dozen a Day" and the "Xerni Journey" piece, with a strong emphasis on coordination.

Eugene and C L worked on a piano piece from the John Thompson's easiest piano course, focusing on measures 13-20. C L practiced right-hand melodies and finger placements, with Eugene providing tempo and fingering guidance. C L was assigned to print the music, notate fingerings, and practice the piece with a metronome, and send a picture of the annotated sheet music to Eugene.

During a piano lesson, Eugene introduced a student from the West End Arts Academy to musical rests, note ties, and the note F on the staff. They practiced identifying these elements in various musical pieces. The learner then began working with exercises from "A Dozen a Day" to develop piano techniques such as staccato and slurs. For their next lesson, Eugene assigned exercises from the new book as a warm-up.

Eugene worked with Kloe during a piano lesson, focusing on scales, the Hannon exercise, and a minuet. Kloe dedicated her practice to modified fingering for scales, maintaining proper posture for the Hannon, and ensuring smooth transitions in specific measures of the minuet. For continued development, Eugene assigned exercises from 'A Dozen a Day' to enhance her finger dexterity.
