Ms. Andrea/Andy - Get to know your vocal coach
I am Ms. Andrea- Andy on stage & Ms. A in the studio! With over a decade of experience as a vocal coach and 25+ years as a pianist, I offer both private and public lessons tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals. I’ve taught Vocal Arts & music at the Milton Hershey School, led show choirs, worked in special education settings, and coached students of all ages—whether they’re preparing for auditions, writing original music, or just beginning their vocal journey. I specialize in vocal technique, oldies/folk/show tunes, stage presence, singer-songwriter development, and confidence building. Lessons are personalized, inclusive, and rooted in real-world performance. As a professional vocalist, I’ve performed everything from classical and jazz to pop and musical theatre on stages, in bars, at weddings, and in community spaces. Let’s find your voice—and make it shine, wherever you dream of performing or expressing yourself through song.
Ms. Andrea/Andy graduated from Millersville

Singing lessons highlights
My teaching philosophy centers on nurturing the whole student—mind, body, and voice—both in and beyond the lesson. Each session is designed to build not only vocal skill but also confidence, creativity, and authentic self-expression. Whether you’re learning to sing for the first time, preparing for an audition, or writing your own music, I create a supportive, inclusive space where your goals are honored and your growth is celebrated. We focus on technique, artistry, emotional connection, performance mental health, and stage presence—all while tuning into your unique identity and learning style. Lessons are a place to explore, take risks, and be fully yourself. My goal is to empower you with tools that help you thrive not just as a vocalist, but as a whole artist and human being. Your voice matters, and I’m here to help it rise to the fullest potential.

Singing concepts taught by Ms. Andrea/Andy
Ms. Andrea and Hailey Jonoubeh recently focused their lesson on structuring practice sessions, integrating piano, and managing performance anxiety. Hailey engaged in vocal exercises like 'How Wide the Sky' and began incorporating piano scales and arpeggios into her warm-up routine. They also discussed analyzing Liza Minnelli's vibrato and developing a performance persona, with Hailey assigned to practice these techniques and select a song for performance by their next lesson on October 5th.

Reframing Boredom
During a recent vocal lesson, Andrea coached Hailey on various techniques, including diaphragm support, breath control, and vowel placement, also delving into emotional connections within music. They applied these skills to songs like "Summertime" and "Do-Re-Mi," specifically tackling vocal challenges and key selection. As part of her homework, Hailey was tasked with practicing straw breathing, identifying comfortable song intros, and exploring scatting. Andrea further offered to provide a straw breathing video and search for a suitable scat song.

Ms. Andrea led Hailey through vocal exercises focusing on breath control, grounding, and articulation, using songs like "Do-Re-Mi" and "This is Just a Little Samba." They worked on connecting breath to musical phrasing and explored the use of solfège hand signs. Hailey was assigned to choose a song for emotional connection to bring to the next lesson, scheduled for July 23rd, and Ms. Andrea announced a change to her fall schedule due to a new teaching position.
