Hi! I' Madeline Malo, I am a current student at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music majoring in Popular Music with an emphasis in Voice. I have graduated from the Orange County School of the Arts with a Diploma in Musical Theatre and have over 3 years of experience tutoring in music. Specializing in pop and jazz, my lessons cover a wide array of subjects from vocal training, breath work, music theory, ear training, and more. I ensure a comprehensive learning experience for students of all levels. From beginners to advanced vocalists, both kids and adults, I tailor my teaching to individual needs. I am also in the acapella group the SoCal VoCals of USC and we are 5x champions of the ICCAs. I love acapella, arranging, performing and all things music! Singing lessons highlights
My teaching approach is venerated around breath work, vocal technique, building confidence, emotionally captivating performances through the voice, being melodically and rhythmically accurate, and enhancing musicality. I specialize in teaching pop-voice, jazz-voice, BGV singing, and musical theatre. I use a variety of online music software to work on pitch recognition, ear training, sight singing, and video conferencing tools to create personalized tutoring experiences for my students. I follow a structured curriculum that caters to students of all levels, ages 10+. My methodology strengths lie in creating a supportive and interactive learning environments that feels safe and help students develop theist vocal technique and musicianship skills effectively and with confidence to perform live, release studio singles, and perform to the best of their abilities.

During a recent voice lesson, Maddie worked with Megan on enhancing her belting technique for the song "I'd Rather Be Me." The instruction specifically focused on utilizing chest voice and achieving proper vocal placement, with Maddie even adjusting the song's key to better suit Megan's range. Additionally, Megan was informed of Maddie's upcoming departure from the tutoring platform, and they arranged a final lesson for Friday.

The learner, a student at Duke University, encountered difficulties with voice placement and was feeling unwell during the lesson. Consequently, it was decided to reschedule for later in the week, with the instructor offering Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday as alternative times.
