I am Dr. Veronica Kariuki, a Registered Nurse and public health professional with more than 25 years of experience in both clinical practice and teaching. Over the years, I have taught and mentored students in nursing, health sciences, and general education subjects, always focusing on building confidence and practical understanding. I have supported nursing students in medical surgical nursing, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and NCLEX preparation. Alongside my health background, I also enjoy teaching subjects such as algebra, geometry, statistics, and basic math skills. My goal is to make challenging topics easier to understand by connecting lessons to real life examples. Students often tell me they appreciate my patient and encouraging style. I take time to understand where you are struggling and adapt my approach to fit your learning style. My teaching style is simple: I meet students where they are and then guide them step by step toward understanding. I believe every student can learn when concepts are broken down into clear, manageable pieces and connected to real life examples. I use a mix of questioning, visuals, and practice problems to help students actively engage with the material instead of just memorizing it. In nursing and health sciences, I focus on case studies and real patient scenarios to show how theory connects to practice. In math, I use everyday examples, worked out solutions, and plenty of practice questions to build both accuracy and confidence. I also encourage students to explain concepts back to me in their own words. This helps me see where they are strong and where we need to review. My sessions are interactive, supportive, and paced according to each student’s needs. Most importantly, I create a safe learning space where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth.
