Guitar Lessons with Expressive Musicality by STI College Educator

My teaching method focuses on developing well-rounded, expressive guitarists by balancing technical skill, music theory, and creative freedom. I begin by assessing each student’s skill level, goals, and musical interests, then tailor a structured yet flexible lesson plan. Core topics include Shredding, Sweep-picking, scale mastery, Chord progression, bending and vibrato control, alternate picking, and improvisation techniques across various genres. I emphasize Finger exercises, fretboard fluency, and guitar solo exercises. Lessons include jam tracks, transcription work, and performance coaching, creating an engaging environment where students build confidence, precision, and personal style as lead players. I work with players of all levels, including complete beginners, and tailor each lesson to the student’s goals and musical interests. For beginners, I emphasize strong foundational skills such as picking technique, basic scales, rhythm, and fretboard familiarity, while keeping lessons fun and engaging. As students progress, we explore soloing, improvisation, phrasing, and tone development. I use jam tracks and real-world applications to help students grow into confident, well-rounded lead guitarists.

I'm an experienced lead guitarist with a strong command of multiple styles, including rock, blues, and metal. I’m known for my technical precision, creative improvisation, and dynamic stage presence. Whether performing live, recording in the studio, or collaborating on songwriting, I bring passion, professionalism, and a deep understanding of musical storytelling to every project I’m part of. In addition to performing, I have experience teaching lead and rhythm guitar to students of all ages. I focus on building both technical foundation and musical expression, helping others find their voice on the instrument. While rooted in rock and blues, my playing also draws from jazz, metal, funk, and fusion. This wide range allows me to adapt to different musical settings and collaborate with diverse artists. I’m always expanding my musical vocabulary to bring fresh ideas and textures to every performance or recording.
