About your physics tutor

Hello! My name is Gabriel Vasquez and I recently completed my doctorate in physics at The Ohio State University. I love tutoring and have over 3 years of experience tutoring students at all levels, from grade school to grad students themselves. My passion lies in demystifying complex topics in math and physics into something both digestible and interesting. I specialize in crafting personalized lesson plans tailored to an individuals needs, ensuring that each of my students thrives. My expertise spans a wide range of topics in physics: including Nuclear Physics, Astrophysics, Quantum Mechanics, and much more. Additionally, my expertise in mathematics is equally as extensive. I have experience teaching a variety of math courses such as Single-Variable Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Abstract Algebra, and so forth. To be a successful physicist requires an extensive background in mathematics. If anything is certain, I am absolutely dedicated towards creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where my students can thrive. I care about the success and well-being of my students and would absolutely love to be a part of your learning journey! Physics class overview

My tutoring approach focuses on fostering conceptual understanding. While memorization can work for other subjects, to be successful in math and physics requires a deep understanding of the concepts being presented. My goal is to teach the "how" and "why" of the concepts being presented in a simple and informative way. This is how best I learned math and science topics and I hope to present what has worked best for me. I leverage a variety of tools such as interactive whiteboards and video conferencing platforms like Zoom to deliver personalized tutoring sessions both online and offline. My goal is to develop an individual lesson plan for each of my students that emphasizes critical thinking and subject mastery to ensure that my students not only excel academically, but also develop a deep appreciation for the subjects that they are learning.
