Sam - Know your guitar teacher
I’m Sam Ashkenazy, a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and passionate educator with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. I’ve been teaching guitar lessons for over eight years and work with students of all ages and experience levels. I believe in a personalized approach to teaching rather than a one-size-fits-all method. My lessons blend technique, theory, ear training, improvisation, and learning songs that inspire you. I aim to create a supportive, engaging environment that helps you grow at your own pace. In addition to teaching, I have a strong background in live performance, studio production, and songwriting, which I love bringing into lessons when it supports a student’s goals. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your skills, I’m excited to help. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a trial lesson.

Guitar lessons quick guide
I take a personalized, student-centered approach to teaching, adapting each lesson to fit the goals, interests, and learning pace of the individual. I combine technique, music theory, ear training, improvisation, and learning songs that excite and inspire each student. My goal is to make complex concepts clear and approachable by connecting them to real music and hands-on playing. I break things down step by step and use practical examples, visuals, and analogies to help students fully understand and apply what they’re learning. I also draw from my background in live performance, studio production, and songwriting to make lessons creative, dynamic, and well-rounded. Whether you're a total beginner or a more advanced player, I aim to make each session engaging, supportive, and tailored to your unique musical journey.
