Singing Lessons by Tutor from California State University San Marcos

I have spent the last decade deeply involved in theatre and process of singing and music creation/passion. I have performed, directed, coached,and supported musical theatre extensively, but my music teaching does not stop there. I studied classical singing at my university, and have supported students across a variety of genres and styles. I am student focused in teaching, which means anything you come to me with, I will support you. Any genre, style, song, technique, or expression, we will work through an individualized approach to support you getting where you want to be in music and singing. I work currently in education, supporting a general education environment, and I love the continued challenge and freshness of taking new students on their musical journeys.

I focus primarily on building up techniques necessary to safely and sustainably accomplish growth goals for students. Sometimes it is as simple as changing how you are breathing, the vowels you are using, or the placement of your voice to make singing easy and consistent. I spent so long not understanding how to use my mix belt, struggling to find that placement and breath necessary, and through trial and error, support from other musicians and friends, and time to figure out those unique pockets of my voice that I needed to tap into in order to create a consistent and supported system to tackle mixed belting in popular music I enjoy, and theatre roles like Veronica Sawyer in Heathers, Heather Stovall in Hands on a Hardbody, and many more.
