About your music teacher

I'm Emerson Williams! I've been teaching students from Pre-K to adult for the past 5 years in voice and piano lessons. In 2023 I completed my BFA in Music for Classical Voice Performance, focusing my studies as a coloratura soprano. I have been performing in theatre for over a decade and have tackled roles and repertoire that have challenged me and given me more tools for teaching. This includes: opera, belting, low range tenor and baritone technique, IPA and vowel shapes, breathing techniques for sustainability and comfort, music theory, piano, composition, music production, etc. etc. Music has permeated my entire life and I can't imagine life without it. I love inspiring creation in my students and exposing them to their own creative inclinations. I teach students at all levels from no experience to advanced with a special attention to the goals you have for your experience in the arts.

Music lessons overview

The lessons I teach are focused on taking a holistic view to teaching and music learning, adapting curriculum to your needs and goals. I have collected techniques and platforms to support goals of Music Production, Composition, Music Theory, Performance for Voice and Piano, across every genre you are drawn to. I have spent the past year teaching in an 8th grade classroom and will continue to teach in school classrooms, which I attribute to my high level of organization in building curriculum that is relevant and adequately challenging to continue to grow your skills. Anything I do not know about techniques, genres, or artists you want to learn from and about, I will adapt into curriculum to support your individual goals. My focus will always be on what serves your learning and goals best. If you're feeling stuck and dispassionate about music, I want to support you into thriving and loving the art of creation again!!
